We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utilities Crew Leader to join our team at the Village of Palm Springs, FL. As a key member of our Utilities Department, you will be responsible for supervising assigned crew members to perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance assignments relating to the operation and maintenance of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and vacuum sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and evaluate personnel performance to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the general public.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing to convey instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage workflow with strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and three (3) years' experience in utility maintenance and construction.
  • Florida Department of Environmental Protection Level 3 Water Distribution License or approved certification in Wastewater Collections or Vacuum Sewer Systems.
  • Florida Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License) with airbrakes and tanker endorsements.
  • Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Working Conditions

The work environment is primarily performed outdoors, and employees may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including excessive heat, humidity, cold, wind, or rain. Employees may also experience intermittent exposure to disagreeable odors from grease, waste, and other malodorous conditions, as well as occasional elevated noise levels.
