Position Purpose:
Under general supervision, operate company vehicles to deliver products to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
The following tasks are typical for this role; however, employees may perform additional related duties as necessary:

  • Drive company trucks on public roads to transport, load, and unload materials for customers.
  • Adhere to all local, state, federal, and company regulations while operating the vehicle safely.
  • Maintain a driver's logbook and complete vehicle inspection reports in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Inspect the vehicle and necessary equipment to ensure safe operating conditions before departure.
  • Review shipping documents for load specifications and any special handling instructions.
  • Ensure loads are secured and safe for transport.
  • Navigate loading platforms, tight corners, and narrow passages while maintaining control of the truck and trailer, especially in adverse weather conditions.
  • Utilize safety equipment when handling materials.
  • Safely load and unload cargo as required.
  • Keep the truck clean and in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain tarps in a clean, neat, and secured manner on the trailer.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class "A" CDL driver's license.
  • Preferred minimum of 3 years experience operating a 53-foot tractor trailer.
  • No more than one major traffic violation in the past 5 years.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 lbs and climb on and off a flatbed trailer.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
