Role Purpose:
Under general supervision, operate company vehicles to deliver products to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive company trucks on public roads to transport, load, and unload materials for customers.
- Adhere to all local, state, federal, and company regulations while ensuring safe driving practices.
- Maintain a driver's logbook and vehicle inspection report in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Inspect vehicles and necessary equipment to ensure safe operating conditions before departure.
- Review shipping documents for load specifications and special handling requirements.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and safe for transport.
- Navigate loading platforms and tight spaces while maintaining control of the vehicle.
- Utilize safety equipment when handling materials.
- Safely load and unload cargo as required.
- Keep the truck clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure tarps are clean, neat, and securely fastened on trailers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class "A" CDL driver's license.
- Preferred 3 years of experience operating a 53-foot tractor-trailer.
- No more than one major traffic violation in the past 5 years.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 lbs and climb on and off flatbed trailers.
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
