Lead Construction Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Senior Construction Administrator with extensive experience in managing educational construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of constructability challenges, particularly within the public education sector.
As a Senior Construction Administrator, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the bidding process, managing construction administration, and ensuring successful project closeout for school facilities. Your role will require effective problem-solving, collaboration with design teams, direct client engagement, financial oversight, and guidance for junior team members.

Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary liaison during the construction administration phase, ensuring effective communication and coordination among stakeholders including owners, contractors, architects, and consultants.
- Guarantee the timely and accurate completion of all documentation and communications throughout the bidding process.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor the financial status of projects during construction and closeout.
- Assist clients with bid evaluations, contract selections, and the choice of testing laboratories.
- Interpret project plans and specifications to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve any conflicts that arise.
- Conduct site observations, perform punch list inspections, and ensure contractor adherence to contract specifications.
- Manage the scheduling of final punch list activities, verify closeout documentation, and support project archiving processes.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on construction administration standards and procedures.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management within the public education sector is required; familiarity with California's Division of the State Architect (DSA) is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and delegate responsibilities to team members.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bidding, construction, governmental processes, and project closeout.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for interaction with owners, contractors, consultants, and team members.
- Proficient in conflict negotiation and resolution in field settings.
- Experience with PDF software for digital document review and processing, including RFIs, submittals, addenda, and change orders.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit for document navigation is preferred.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $104,000 to $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
