A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the on-site management of significant projects. Your focus on quality and safety ensures that all procedures are adhered to by the team. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean job site and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you assess the quality of work and adherence to building codes at each construction phase.

You will manage project profitability and timelines, coordinating with subcontractors to keep projects on track and within budget. Maintaining accurate documentation, including daily reports, is essential. As the primary representative for our company on-site, you will communicate regularly with stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the project lifecycle. Your proactive approach will help identify opportunities for increased efficiency and safety, and you will provide recommendations for improvements.

As a skilled problem-solver, you will address any conflicts or challenges that arise during the project. You will lead the on-site team, fostering a culture of pride and accountability in their work. Training team members in construction methods and equipment operation will be part of your responsibilities. Your management style will promote teamwork, respect, and trust, leading to successful project outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing ground-up commercial projects, such as hotels or medical facilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA compliance.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and tools.
  • Experience with Public Works projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to compose reports and professional correspondence.
  • Strong reading comprehension for technical documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft scheduling and management software.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Knowledge of design techniques and principles for producing technical plans and blueprints is preferred. Experience in managing client relationships and providing innovative solutions is a plus.
