Position Summary

REPORTS TO:
Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Retail Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective functioning of retail operations.

This position encompasses various responsibilities, including merchandise processing, maintaining cleanliness and organization, operating the cash register, delivering excellent customer service, and undertaking additional tasks as assigned.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Merchandise Management: Sort, clean, tag, and price items as instructed. Ensure a steady flow of products to the sales floor daily.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting patrons warmly and addressing their needs as directed by management.
  • Donation Acceptance: Adhere to management guidelines for accepting donations and enforce store policies regarding donations.
  • Merchandising: Stock and arrange merchandise on the sales floor, employing merchandising techniques as directed by management.
  • Cash Register Operations: Execute cash register duties following established guidelines. Maintain efficiency and courtesy towards customers at all times, adhering to policies regarding refunds, exchanges, and voids.
  • Team Support: Offer guidance and support to program workers, volunteers, and other staff in the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager. Follow opening and closing procedures and cash handling protocols.
  • Policy Compliance: Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Security Responsibilities: Ensure the secure handling of keys and alarm codes for the store.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned tasks, including covering for absences or assisting during peak periods to meet organizational needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role is situated within a retail store environment, which includes a receiving area similar to a warehouse.

SCHEDULE:
The position requires a regular work schedule of 30-40 hours per week.

Workdays and hours may vary, with the possibility of consecutive shifts up to 8 hours per day, including occasional overtime to meet production processing needs.
