Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a Patient Access Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient registration services, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient registration services, including pre-registration, registration, and verification activities.
  • Collect and process patient demographic and financial information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identify source of payment and collect payment, interfacing with insurers and hospital staff as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Federal and State regulatory compliance guidelines and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Departmental staff and management to strengthen and improve processes within the revenue cycle.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Minimum one year experience in patient access, registration, billing, cash collection, insurance, and/or pre-certification in a medical environment, preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience and competency in customer relation skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a stressful environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
