Supportive Services Coordinator Opportunity at JamboreeAbout the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Supportive Services Coordinator to join our team at Jamboree, a leading nonprofit developer of affordable housing in Orange County. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing supportive services, linkage, and referral services to improve housing stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized supportive services to residents, addressing barriers to progress and goal achievement.
  • Manage tenant rosters, tracking entry-exit data for relevant Jamboree properties.
  • Recognize warning signs of de-compensation and respond with empathy and expertise.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required.
  • Document resident engagement in services and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Produce monthly newsletters highlighting available social and supportive services, both on-site and off-site.
  • Keep track of off-site services and programs information, offering referrals when suitable.
  • Deliver advocacy, on-site case management services, and link residents to services as needed.
  • Conduct intake assessments and orientations with new residents.
  • Build positive relationships, coordinate services between community supports, service providers, and property management.
  • Foster a welcoming environment for residents and encourage community involvement.
  • Lead daily Adult Education groups/workshops on-site for residents.
  • Organize Health and Wellness events and community activities annually.
  • Accurately input data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) in a timely manner.
  • Provide on-site life skills training and support to residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Experience working with individuals facing chronic homelessness and mental health challenges.
  • Familiarity with Housing First, Harm Reduction, and/or Recovery Oriented service models.
  • Capacity to maintain relationships with consumers/members while upholding appropriate boundaries as a staff member.
  • Ability to engage in culturally diverse communities.
  • Preferred AA degree or equivalent experience in serving homeless individuals.
  • Effective team player with the capability to work independently as well.
  • Knowledge of independent living skills like cooking, budgeting, housekeeping, and community etiquette.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Willingness to work some evening and weekend hours and travel within California.
Work Environment

You will be working with the homeless population in various settings, including streets, shelters, or other habitation areas. Exposures may include bed bugs, odors, unclean environments due to homelessness or mental health factors. Some tasks may be carried out in recreational or communal spaces. Noise levels typically moderate but subject to change based on activities.
