Engineering Project Manager at Embraer

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Engineering Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the Project Management sector within the Engineering Division, overseeing Low-Complexity Projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts standard Project Management activities employing established methodologies such as PMI's PMBoK and Critical Chain principles.
  • Supports senior Project Managers in various project-related tasks, including the development of schedules, status reports, and risk management strategies.
  • Independently manages Low-Complexity Projects, guided by Senior Project Managers and/or the PMO Manager.
  • Engages in Project-specific Budget Planning and Control activities.
  • Collaborates closely with senior Project Managers and/or the PMO Manager for comprehensive project oversight.
  • Develops Project Schedules and tracks Deliverables.
  • Aggregates and Analyzes Project Data for reporting purposes.
  • Generates Visibility Reports to monitor project advancement.
  • Improves existing Processes and Procedures for enhanced efficiency.
  • Assists in Budget Control Activities to ensure financial targets are achieved.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Familiarity with aircraft and aviation is beneficial.
  • CAPM Certification is an advantage.
Experience:
  • Typically 2+ years of experience in Product Development.
  • Initiating a career in Project/Program Management (0-2 years of experience).
  • Experience in the Project/Program Manager Role within Aerospace or Aviation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Implementation of Project/Program Management practices.
  • Manages Project Life Cycle Tasks for multiple Low-Complexity Projects concurrently.
  • Customer-focused with strong Relationship Building abilities.
  • Eager to learn about Aircraft Development and Certification processes.
  • Interest in Executive Aircraft and Aviation Market, particularly in Interior, Seats, and Cabin Systems.
  • Understanding of Aircraft Interior Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, and Certification.
  • Consults with Team Leaders/Specialists for project estimation.
  • Comprehends project development Gates and ensures Gate exits.
  • Coordinates with Engineering Management for Schedule Alignment and Deliverables.
  • Proficient in tools such as CCPM, JIRA, and Microsoft Project.
  • Collaborates across departments including Procurement, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Production.
  • Demonstrates effective Tracking and Communication Skills for project execution.
  • Manages Action Items with Engineering Leads and resolves cross-departmental challenges.
  • Possesses strong written and oral presentation skills for effective communication with Senior Management and project Teams.
  • Exhibits effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish is advantageous.

  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing as per FAA regulations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
