Veterinary Services Manager

The Assistant Hospital Services Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our veterinary hospital. This role requires a strong leader who can create an exceptional client experience, while ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Department Oversight: Oversee the emergency, critical care, and overnight client care service teams, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Resource Allocation & Staff Scheduling: Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure maximum productivity and service, while managing labor within budget constraints.
- Collaboration with Medical Director: Work closely with the hospital medical director to ensure the effective deployment of medical services.
- Client and Pet Flow Management: Regularly assess and ensure the efficient and effective flow of clients and pets through the departments.
- Resource Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate the needs of the departments and recommend appropriate resources to meet those needs.
- Work Area Maintenance: Ensure all department work areas are clean, attractive, functional, and safe for staff, patients, and clients.
- Financial and Benchmarking Management: Participate in evaluating financial and benchmarking information to ensure the best management of the departments.
- Collaboration with Corporate Teams: Work with corporate teams to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Team Development: Develop and build teams, fostering mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Recruitment and Hiring: Participate in the recruitment, interview, and hiring process for all open staff positions and doctors.
- Performance Standards and Reviews: Set production and performance standards, and follow up through monitoring, assessing, and evaluating employee performance.
- Training and Development: Ensure appropriate training for all staff, focusing on exceptional customer service and hospitality.
- Change Management: Work with the Hospital Director to facilitate change management in the hospital.
- Payroll and Workers' Compensation: Resolve and approve payroll matters, and report Workers' Comp claims promptly.
- Supervision and Performance Management: Supervise support staff personnel and participate in performance reviews and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Leadership Experience: 5 years of managing or leading a team of 25+ people is required.
- Human Healthcare or Veterinary Background: A human healthcare or veterinary background is a plus.
- Collaborative Environment: The ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service, are required.
