The Assistant Hospital Services Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned disciplines and departments. This role requires a strong focus on creating an exceptional client experience, operational planning, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities- Department Oversight: Ensure compliance with hospital operating procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Resource Allocation & Staff Scheduling: Develop staff schedules to maximize productivity and manage labor within budget constraints.
- Collaboration with Medical Director: Work closely with the hospital medical director to deploy medical services effectively.
- Client and Pet Flow Management: Regularly assess and ensure efficient client and pet flow through departments.
- Resource Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate department needs and recommend resources, including equipment and staffing.
- Work Area Maintenance: Ensure department work areas are clean, safe, and hospitable for staff, patients, and clients.
- Financial and Benchmarking Management: Participate in evaluating financial and benchmarking information to manage departments effectively.
- Collaboration with Corporate Teams: Work with corporate teams to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Team Development: Develop and build teams, fostering trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Recruitment and Hiring: Participate in recruitment, interview, and hiring for staff positions and doctors.
- Performance Standards and Reviews: Set production and performance standards, and follow up with monitoring, assessing, and evaluating employee performance.
- Training and Development: Ensure appropriate training for staff, focusing on exceptional customer service and hospitality.
- Change Management: Collaborate with the Hospital Director to facilitate change management in the hospital.
- Payroll and Workers' Compensation: Resolve and approve payroll matters, and report Workers Comp claims promptly.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years managing or leading a team of 25+ people.
- Human healthcare or veterinary background a plus.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service.
