Position Summary: This role is responsible for the financial oversight of a moderately complex portfolio of capital projects initiated by Mass General Brigham, with a strong focus on portfolio analytics and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial control and administration for renovation and construction projects with annual expenditures exceeding $400 million, supporting smaller projects ranging from $1 to $10 million or a larger project over $100 million.
  • Review construction contracts for compliance, ensuring accurate implementation and accountability for change orders and job modifications.
  • Generate detailed reports on cost trends across various project types and building trades, providing valuable data for estimating and benchmarking.
  • Assist in the administration and development of Oracle Unifier and potentially Oracle analytics.
  • Maintain accurate approvals and funding for scope changes on larger projects, assisting with project dashboards and cash flow analysis.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to established controls.
  • Review and process contractor requisitions for payment, ensuring compliance with contract documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review project costs, commitments, funding, budgets, and completion estimates regularly.
  • Conduct weekly queries and reports within the Unifier project management system to ensure data quality.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, reconciling and closing capital projects upon completion.
  • Audit reimbursable invoices for accuracy and completeness, collaborating with vendors as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of three years of accounting or finance experience, with a preference for construction and project costing experience.
  • Experience with financial systems and reporting is essential.
  • Familiarity with AIA contracts and documents is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills and digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Primavera Unifier, are required.
