Position Overview
This role is integral to the Finance Department at Mass General Brigham, supporting the leadership of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct operational variance assessments for both Clinical and Non-Clinical sectors.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of financial performance for designated areas of responsibility.
- Deliver monthly budget presentations to Senior Vice Presidents within the hospitals.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to create, maintain, and enhance departmental reporting tools for various levels of hospital leadership, including the Vice President of Finance and CFO.
- Partner with hospital management and local finance teams on operating and capital budget development, reporting, and special initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination and formulation of the annual operating budget process.
- Analyze proposed budget requests, facilitate discussions, and engage in negotiations regarding budgetary matters, providing recommendations to management.
- Work alongside accounting, patient care management, human resources, and finance teams to assess financial performance and address significant financial challenges.
- Generate, analyze, and prepare a variety of regular and ad hoc reports for management inquiries and initiatives.
- Compile financial schedules and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Evaluate the correlation between hospital volume and its impact on departmental operations and monthly expenses.
- For assigned responsibilities, prepare monthly variance analyses, cost per unit evaluations, and assist in reviewing reports related to budgetary issues and special projects.
- Utilize various systems such as StrataJazz Financial Planning, StrataJazz Decision Support, EPIC, Tableau, Position Control, and Workday for financial analytics.
- Design and maintain accurate records and databases.

Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proactive approach with sound judgment in resource management.
- Exceptional discretion when dealing with sensitive financial and confidential matters.
- Proficient in financial and revenue analysis.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
- Capability to work independently with operational managers on cost analysis, forecasting, and variance assessments.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial analysis capacity.
- Familiarity with StrataJazz Financial Planning or Decision Support, Workday, and proficiency in creating Excel macros is preferred.
