Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Manufacturing Financial Analyst will be responsible for various accounting and reporting functions. This includes managing daily financial transactions, preparing month-end reports, compiling financial statements, conducting account analyses, and ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities while collaborating with the plant management team to implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Prepare and record journal entries accurately.
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Support the Operations team by providing financial justifications for capital projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and dissemination of financial reports related to planning and forecasting.
  • Assist in tracking capital improvement projects.
  • Help establish labor standards for operational efficiency.
  • Analyze manufacturing standard cost variances, product profitability, inventory valuation, and overall efficiency metrics.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as required.
  • Support the annual physical inventory process.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable department by matching invoices to purchase orders and facilitating the check run process.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits.
  • Engage in other general accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the accounting cycle, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for teamwork.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
