Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our corporate finance team. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and adherence to internal controls. The General Ledger team collaborates with management and various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze data to prepare monthly entries for assets, liabilities, and expenses, establishing necessary accruals and evaluating the adequacy of specific reserves.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheets, ensuring comprehensive documentation is available to support financial figures.
  • Assist in the monthly closing procedures, maintaining proper documentation for internal and external audit reviews.
  • Support the preparation of requests for annual audits and tax documentation.
  • Provide assistance to the Accounting Manager as required.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong alignment with the culture and values of ITS, along with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or a related field, ideally within a multi-faceted business environment.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting and finance principles, coupled with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP to facilitate routine decision-making and identify areas requiring further investigation.
  • A proactive individual with strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets is essential.
  • Familiarity with basic SQL is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to accommodate ad hoc analytical requests.
  • Experience with NAV/Business Central is a plus.
