Internship Responsibilities:
Hamilton Company is pleased to present internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in Accounting and Finance. This role offers hands-on experience at a leading biotechnology and robotics firm with advanced in-house manufacturing, research and development, and laboratory sciences.
The Accounting and Finance interns will collaborate with seasoned professionals across various sectors of Hamilton's Finance Department. The internship includes a rotation through the following key areas:
- Cost Accounting:
- Assess purchase requests for correct coding and valuation.
- Review new part setups within the ERP system.
- Calculate and analyze transfer pricing for intercompany transactions.
- Undertake additional assigned tasks. - General Ledger Accounting:
- Engage in month-end closing processes by preparing and presenting journal entries.
- Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Identify, investigate, and rectify discrepancies in account postings.
- Complete other assigned responsibilities. - Tax:
- Prepare workpapers and journal entries.
- Investigate tax-related issues and communicate findings to management.
- Assist with indirect tax processes.
- Manage documentation.
- Perform other assigned duties. - Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Analyze budget variances.
- Develop reports using Power BI.
- Maintain periodic forecasts.
- Conduct financial statement analysis.
- Complete additional assigned tasks. - Audit:
- Test and review internal controls.
- Conduct functional audits of significant business processes.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Professional communication skills via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented, motivated, efficient, and organized.
- Strong follow-up and follow-through capabilities.
- Professional demeanor.
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Education/Experience:
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, or related program is required.
- Completion of Business Core is preferred.
