PRIMARY PURPOSE: To evaluate and manage intricate auto and commercial transportation claims by assessing coverage, conducting investigations, determining liability, and appraising the extent of damages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages complex auto, commercial, and personal line claims, including bodily injury, ensuring thorough documentation and accurate coding of claim files.
  • Oversees the litigation process for claims that are litigated.
  • Coordinates vendor management, utilizing independent adjusters to support claim investigations.
  • Reports significant claims to excess carriers.
  • Develops and maintains action plans to meet state-required contact deadlines and facilitate prompt and appropriate resolutions.
  • Identifies and pursues subrogation and risk transfer opportunities; manages salvage processes.
  • Communicates claim actions and processing updates with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality assurance programs.
  • Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Professional certification relevant to the line of business is also preferred. Must secure and maintain state adjusting licenses as required for the role.

Experience:
Previous experience in Bodily Injury (both Represented and Non-Represented) is advantageous. Litigation experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and applicable laws.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology for claim assessment and Medicare compliance.
  • Knowledge of appropriate applications for deductibles, sub-limits, SIRs, and large deductible programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Ability to meet or exceed service expectations.

Pay Transparency:

Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and location costs. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the starting pay range for this role is $70,000.
