About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to join our team at Expedia, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to drive business growth and development through strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Execute Business Growth Strategies

Develop and execute business growth strategies to drive revenue and expand our market presence.

Build and Maintain Strategic Partnerships

Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players to drive business growth and development.

Lead Cross-Functional Teams

Lead cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and contract high-impact strategic partnerships.

Drive Commercial Growth

Drive commercial growth through data-driven commercial acumen, including modeling historical production, growth trends, competitive positioning, and partner financial viability.

Develop and Negotiate Contracts

Develop and negotiate contracts with partners to ensure successful onboarding and optimization.

Collaborate with Support Teams

Collaborate with support teams to ensure successful new partner onboarding and optimization.

Proactively Lead Virtual Teams

Proactively lead virtual teams and organize resources to ensure successful partner onboarding.

Develop Potential Product Solutions

Develop potential product solutions and commercial tactics based on partner needs and conduct broad analysis to determine the viability of various alternatives.

Drive Financial Impact

Drive financial impact through projects and analyses that support the organization's mission.

Partner with Legal Resources

Partner with legal resources to explain difficult concepts or unique situations that require potential deviation from standard contract terms.

Requirements
  1. 8+ Years of Experience

8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.

Proven Sales/Influence Skills

Proven sales/influence skills, balanced with consultative needs analysis/solutioning, financial competence, and technical sales experience.

Comprehensive Travel Industry Knowledge

Comprehensive travel industry knowledge, particularly related to loyalty programs and travel inventory distribution.

Previous Experience with Travel Technologies

Previous experience with travel technologies.

Demonstrated Strength in Communication

Demonstrated strength in communication, presentation, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.

Proven Ability to Operate Independently

Proven ability to operate independently, achieve financial targets, define objectives and structure, advocate for partners when appropriate, seek input when needed, and make sound business decisions.

High Degree of Motivation

High degree of motivation and a positive outlook.

Ability to Build Relationships

Ability to effectively build relationships internally and externally, particularly with decision-makers.

Flexibility to Travel

Flexibility to travel up to 30% of the time.
