About Our Culinary Services

Pioneer operates a top-tier institutional kitchen that delivers fully prepared meals to various residential programs, offers affordable meal solutions to other nonprofit organizations, and provides prepared food for restaurants throughout the region. Our culinary division is licensed by the Washington State Department of Agriculture, enabling us to process, package, and sell food in retail settings. Our kitchen is equipped with advanced technology for preparing, cooking, and quickly chilling ready-to-eat meals.

We serve over 1,000 meals daily to extended care facilities, nutrition centers, and residential reentry programs.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Culinary Operations Associate include:

  • Washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, including walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and restrooms.
  • Adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Multi-tasking effectively while managing various tasks simultaneously.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assembling, packaging, and labeling products for distribution.
  • Preparing sack lunches and accurately dating each package.
  • Wrapping cold food items and labeling them appropriately.
  • Constructing and wrapping sandwiches for lunch bags.
  • Assisting with product deliveries and maintaining organized storage areas.
  • Cleaning stainless steel work surfaces with sanitizing solutions.
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and hold a valid Washington state Food Handlers card. Clear communication skills in English are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a commercial kitchen setting is highly desirable.
