Job Summary
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to order, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavor.
- Receive and fulfill verbal orders from front counter staff, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain quality and production standards on all menu items, ensuring freshness and quality when served to guests.
- Control portion sizes and serving temperatures to meet company standards.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment, such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens, with precision and safety.
- Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are stored properly, utensils are clean and put away, and the floor is swept and mopped at the end of each shift.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in the kitchen, adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, meeting company standards for attendance and reliability.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, management, and guests.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, with a focus on generating a positive and enthusiastic work atmosphere.
- Valid food handling certificate, as required by state and federal regulations.
