Team Insights

The Banking Strategy team operates within the Banking Solutions division, which is the largest segment of FIS, generating approximately $7B in annual revenue across six product lines that cater to banks and financial institutions.

Banking Strategy focuses on growth, transformation, rationalization, partnerships, and M&A opportunities. We collaborate and influence extensively across corporate functions and product lines.

Role Responsibilities

As the Strategic Banking Operations Leader, you will collaborate closely with executives across various functions and business units to define and execute strategic initiatives that promote long-term competitive advantage, diversification, growth, and financial success for the Banking Solutions line of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and build consensus around business cases for strategic revenue enhancement, product innovation, and cost synergy opportunities to elevate overall corporate financial performance and enhance shareholder value.
  • Articulate and share strategic insights and recommendations across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Advise senior executives on competitive landscape, industry trends, strategic risks, and pivotal industry shifts.
  • Collaborate with and influence resources across the FIS organization, including corporate strategy, partnerships, M&A, and pricing teams on enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Portfolio Management to align strategy with capital investments.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage team members flexibly based on project staffing needs.
  • As a recognized industry thought leader, represent FIS in industry publications, associations, conferences, and senior executive meetings with key clients.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with a strong focus in banking and/or fintech.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in strategy as a corporate function, at an external consultancy, or within banking or financial services organizations.
  • Proven track record of growth within high-performing teams, with a passion for talent development.
  • Strong intelligence, professionalism, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with and influence teams across all levels, including senior executives.
  • Ability to quickly learn in a complex global organization within a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Analytical, disciplined, detail-oriented, and capable of data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in articulating complex ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with all MS Office applications.
