Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Culinary Leader, you will assist our Restaurant Management in achieving culinary and service excellence within our kitchen. Your passion for preparing high-quality dishes will drive you to master each culinary station by adhering to recipes, processes, and procedures while actively training others to enhance the skills of the entire kitchen team. Your leadership will inspire our Chefs-In-Training, as you guide them through busy service periods, address guest feedback, and serve as a key resource for culinary and operational best practices.

Utilizing a traditional brigade system, you will foster effective communication within the team. As a Culinary Leader, you will work closely with the management team to ensure all staff are well-trained and organized, providing guests with an experience that exceeds their expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspire and uplift Chefs-in-Training by exemplifying culinary skills, warm hospitality, and a positive demeanor.
  • Educate fellow team members on each station, following established diagrams and preparation standards to maintain consistency.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all culinary stations by executing seasonal menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Oversee preparation lists, manage waste logs, and engage in inventory management while collaborating closely with the Chef de Cuisine to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
  • Familiarize yourself with restaurant ordering systems to assist the Chef de Cuisine in maintaining necessary inventory levels.
  • Effectively manage restaurant shifts by creating strategic deployment plans, delegating tasks appropriately, and adhering to scheduled breaks.
  • Successfully open and close the restaurant by utilizing checklists and maintaining thorough communication with previous shift leaders.
  • Contribute to team development through interview shadowing, participating in team meetings, providing constructive feedback, and leading pre-shift discussions.
  • Operate the expediting station to ensure food presentation and order accuracy for all service types.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns, digital ordering issues, and equipment maintenance challenges.
  • Support the maintenance of high health and safety standards by adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Exhibit professionalism and uphold company policies regarding discrimination and harassment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a culinary setting.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Food Safety Certification is required.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for both employees and guests.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach to teamwork and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • A desire for personal and professional growth within the culinary team.
