Job Description

We are currently in search of a meticulous accounting professional to assist with various general accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in managing sensitive financial information and handling confidential data with the utmost discretion.

Position Overview

The successful applicant will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within a government contracting context. The candidate should be a fast learner, capable of juggling multiple tasks, and effectively prioritizing competing demands while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll efficiently
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Overseeing accounts payable
  • Exhibiting general accounting and finance skills (minimum of 2 years required)
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Working with QuickBooks
  • Performing routine clerical accounting tasks while adhering to established standards
  • Entering contracts and financial transactions into the accounting software
  • Assisting with audit requests
  • Executing accurate reporting, filing, and database management
  • Conducting research and completing accounting reconciliations

Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least 2 years of clerical accounting experience
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred
  • Experience with accounting software tailored for government contractors is advantageous (e.g., Procas)
  • Understanding of ADP payroll processing

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong work ethic with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proven history of exceeding objectives
  • Ability to adhere to local, state, and federal financial regulations, along with company policies

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software
  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Word
  • Experienced with QuickBooks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Customer service skills for handling invoice inquiries
  • Ability to maintain accurate records

Education and Certification:

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Associate's degree is preferred, with coursework focused on accounting.
