The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial department, reporting directly to the Controller. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities that are essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting;
- Prepare and input journal entries related to fixed assets, accruals, deferred rent, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts;
- Assist in the comprehensive month-end closing process and perform close analysis;
- Generate Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for senior management review;
- Manage Sales and Use Tax compliance;
- Oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable on a weekly basis;
- Reconcile Payroll transactions to maintain accurate records;
- Maintain organized physical accounting files for easy access;
- Prepare and process daily bank deposits efficiently;
- Handle the processing and mailing of checks multiple times a week;
- Manage the processing and mailing of overdue invoices;
- Support accounts receivable and billing functions as needed;
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned;
- Receive and distribute incoming mail, deliveries, and faxes; greet and assist visitors; and perform other administrative tasks as required.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
Qualifications- A minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, or equivalent work experience;
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL or similar accounting software is preferred;
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required;
- Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines consistently;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
