Job Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial department, reporting directly to the Controller. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities that are essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting;
  • Prepare and input journal entries related to fixed assets, accruals, deferred rent, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts;
  • Assist in the comprehensive month-end closing process and perform close analysis;
  • Generate Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for senior management review;
  • Manage Sales and Use Tax compliance;
  • Oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable on a weekly basis;
  • Reconcile Payroll transactions to maintain accurate records;
  • Maintain organized physical accounting files for easy access;
  • Prepare and process daily bank deposits efficiently;
  • Handle the processing and mailing of checks multiple times a week;
  • Manage the processing and mailing of overdue invoices;
  • Support accounts receivable and billing functions as needed;
  • Perform additional accounting duties as assigned;
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail, deliveries, and faxes; greet and assist visitors; and perform other administrative tasks as required.
Compensation

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, or equivalent work experience;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL or similar accounting software is preferred;
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required;
  • Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines consistently;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
