Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Accountant for Accounts Receivable, your responsibilities will include:

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Daily processing of checks, lockbox payments, and credit card transactions.
  • Generating bi-weekly Accounts Receivable Aging Reports and communicating with budget managers.
  • Conducting monthly discussions with budget managers to review outstanding payments.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable balances with financial software.
  • Daily review and posting of Membership/PBD batches; investigating credits, overpayments, and unapplied payments.
  • Managing vendor ACH and credit card enrollments for receivables.
  • Running monthly aging and sales reports; sending notifications for overdue accounts.
  • Emailing monthly distributor invoices and overdue notices.
  • Processing daily distributor payments; recording inventory returns and resolving discrepancies.
  • Providing training on Accounts Receivable functions.

Fixed Assets Oversight:

  • Monthly addition of new assets to financial management software.
  • Maintaining cost schedules for assets under development.
  • Quarterly assessment and disposal of assets.
  • Calculating monthly depreciation and reconciling with the general ledger.
  • Preparing the Annual Personal Property Tax Return.

General Ledger Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring daily bank activities and preparing journal entries.
  • Recording and allocating bank and credit card fees quarterly.
  • Monthly reconciliation of copier and postage accounts.
  • Assisting with month-end close and year-end audit/tax preparation.
  • Supporting budgeting and document retention/destruction processes.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking individuals who possess:

Experience and Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior-level accounting role.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Strong expertise in financial software such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, and Sage Fixed Assets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with in-office presence required on designated days.
