Restaurant General Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our team at Gecko Hospitality. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to maintain high standards of service, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of restaurant operations.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of restaurant staff, including management, servers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure profitability and growth.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop and implement customer retention strategies, including loyalty programs, promotions, and community outreach.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns, including social media, advertising, and public relations.
  • Menu Development: Work with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu items, promotions, and pricing strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including health and safety, employment, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in restaurant management, with at least 1 year in a General Manager role.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading successful teams and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including inventory management, food safety, and cost control.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local health, safety, and employment regulations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies for business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
