At Johnson Controls, we are seeking a seasoned Sales Executive to join our team in the role of Energy Solutions Business Growth Strategist. This position is part of our Sustainable Infrastructure business and involves building long-term client relationships with key decision-makers in government and higher education sectors.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of success in selling infrastructure renewal programs across government and higher education buildings facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for reducing energy costs, water loss, and creating quality work environments for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience navigating complex sales processes, understanding customer needs, and promoting solutions at the executive level. They will engage with key decision-makers, ensure customer satisfaction, and drive the adoption of innovative energy solutions.

  • Focusing on demonstrating value at the executive level by providing solutions to business and financial challenges;
  • Buidling partnering relationships with economic buyers, owners, or owner representatives responsible for the decision-making process;
  • Developing relationship with Systems and Service sales organization to exceed customers' expectations;
  • Acting as the customer's advocate in interactions with the JCI organization;

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  1. Demonstrate excellent initiative, interpersonal communications skills, and ability to influence the market at key levels;
  2. Show a strong understanding of State & Federal decision making and influencers, as well as an interest in emerging technologies and innovation;
  3. Effectively communicate proposals, secure major opportunities through financial agreements, and negotiate value with customers;
  4. Utilize applicable sales tools effectively to plan and document progress, increase business opportunity in accounts, and leverage monthly checkpoints to gain progressive commitments from the customer;

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of five to seven years of progressive field sales experience at the C-level;
  • Experience selling outcome-based solutions into the Government/Higher Education verticals;
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
