The Provider Market Account Executive is the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of Provider clients. They are responsible for developing strategic account plans to achieve above-market growth in delivering Provider solutions. This executive is accountable for the profitable growth and deployment of the overall Provider portfolio.

This role involves driving growth within assigned accounts, contributing to regional and market P&Ls. You will engage matrixed teams in support of account objectives for revenue, earnings, growth, and client satisfaction. This includes collaborating with sales teams, operations, product, and technology teams, as well as other groups at the Optum level required to deliver upon our aggressive growth and innovation objectives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Build intimate, consultative relationships with Provider clients to understand their strategy and business needs.
  • Assess the value that Optum solutions deliver and influence team members across the matrix to develop approaches that increase this value.
  • Create value stories consistent with the clients' strategies and present these to various levels within the client, including executives, decision makers, and key influencers.
  • Negotiate renewals, contractual agreements, statements of work, and performance guarantees while serving as liaison with contracting/financial teams.
  • Ensure service and delivery commitments to clients are met, and the realization of expected client savings and Optum revenue growth goals through performance management and contract renewals.

This role requires 5+ years of experience in a strategic, leadership, consultant, or related role within the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving various KPIs/metrics and growth, with 3+ years of experience working with stakeholders and business leaders to drive outcomes.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 annually, based on local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
