Role Overview

The F-16 Production Operations Leader plays a crucial role in guiding and optimizing the manufacturing processes for the F-16V Block 70 aircraft.

This position emphasizes the development of a proficient team dedicated to achieving excellence in safety, quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.

The leader will establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and guide a talented team of production leads and personnel, ensuring they are well-trained and qualified to uphold high technical standards and meet production benchmarks.
  • Implement rigorous quality control and product discipline measures to ensure compliance with production standards and promote ongoing process enhancements.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the System Program Office to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Strategize and execute plans to seamlessly integrate out-of-station work, preventing interruptions and improving production flow.
  • Acknowledge and reward outstanding team performance, address performance challenges proactively, and drive initiatives that enhance cost efficiency and schedule adherence.

You are a seasoned aerospace production leader with a proven history of managing and nurturing high-performing teams.

Your comprehensive knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, and safety protocols empowers you to tackle complex challenges while driving continuous improvement.

With exceptional communication skills, you build strong partnerships with stakeholders such as the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and System Program Office.

Your strategic approach and innovative solutions enhance operational efficiency and ensure smooth production processes.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aviation Production or Maintenance, Modification, Repair, and Overhaul (MMRO) Operations.

Experience leading teams to meet critical deadlines and resolve complex technical or operational challenges.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience engaging with internal and external customers.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.


Previous recognition as an Air Force, Marine, or Navy 7-level discipline skill rating or equivalent civilian experience with relevant credentials.

Recent experience with fighter aircraft is preferred.

Ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required.

Experience in creating and utilizing performance metrics.

Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) is a plus.

Experience with SAP is advantageous.

Demonstrated capability to create, monitor, and report on operational metrics.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles or processes is preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: This position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. These schedules may include standard 40-hour work weeks or condensed options, allowing for more time away from the office in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, with 3 days off per week.
