Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational and service aspects of the Bistro and Guest Services Departments.
  • Facilitate effective orientation and training for new hires while developing ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to enhance team performance and morale.
  • Support department managers in guest interactions, shift coverage, and maintaining high standards of customer service and cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Address guest complaints and report to management on corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure accurate guest billing and understand end-of-month responsibilities.
  • Work with the Sales Department to manage occupancy and group room blocks.
  • Conduct daily inspections of public spaces and monitor expenses related to room rates and labor costs.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and legal requirements.
  • Review staffing levels to meet operational needs and financial goals.
  • Encourage effective communication between staff and departments.
  • Maintain productive relationships with service providers.
  • Act as Manager on Duty as needed and perform various other duties to meet business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years in a similar leadership role.
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel front desk operations.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
