Position Overview

I. General Job Responsibilities

This role will serve as the parts account manager for both existing and potential clients, requiring travel as necessary to deliver on-site support and meet established sales and profit targets.

The following responsibilities outline the key functions of this position:

  • Formulate strategies to meet sales targets while staying informed about new products and promotional activities.
  • Act as a representative of the company, collaborating with the Service Department and Truck Sales to identify innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide regular updates to the Parts Manager to track performance against sales objectives.
  • Maintain an organized database of customers and implement effective follow-up communications to address their needs promptly.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by managing daily business requirements for existing clients.
  • Resolve customer issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert them into sales activities.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Dedicate time to prospecting for new accounts and document activities in the CRM system.
  • Plan and execute territory coverage, regularly visiting key accounts.
  • Log all sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Adhere strictly to the company's Sales Policy Manual.
II. Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of parts sales experience, preferably in the commercial vehicle sector.
  • Valid driver's license and a qualified MVR abstract are necessary.
III. Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of direct customer-facing sales experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in prospecting and closing sales.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty trucks.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and telephone skills.
IV. Cognitive and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to comprehend complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize work effectively.
  • Decision-making skills with significant impact on the work unit.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly over the phone.
  • Mathematical skills to analyze and interpret numerical data.
V. Work Environment and Physical Demands

The characteristics of the work environment and physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead, and stand for extended periods. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist in lifting or moving more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required. The role involves driving a motor vehicle for extended periods and frequent travel to customer locations.

Employees may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is moderate.
