About the Role

Sterling Crane LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Vice President, Business Development. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth within the crane businesses of Marmon Crane Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing plan to drive growth of the crane sector, leveraging both organic and inorganic sources of revenue.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers, identifying opportunities to grow and improve profitability, and overseeing major bid reviews to ensure financial metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Drive the Voice of Customer (VOC) process to understand customer needs and preferences, and develop analysis of opportunities within existing markets for new customer acquisition.
  • Analyze and identify opportunities for geographic and vertical market expansion, collaborating with business unit leadership and sector resources to deliver analysis of acquisition targets for review by senior leadership.
  • Develop and manage the capabilities of a global team of business development professionals, including selling skills, negotiation skills, and pricing methodologies.
  • Manage the sales forecasting process using customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and develop key business development inputs for the sector budget.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business or a related field.
  • Extensive commercial leadership experience in the crane, construction, or related industries.
  • Extensive experience working with large industrial customers in vertical markets such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, mining, power generation, and industrial/infrastructure.
  • Merger and acquisition experience with deals up to $100 million USD.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% throughout North America, Australia, and occasionally Europe/Asia.
