Role Responsibilities

The Membership Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving membership growth through effective marketing strategies, lead generation, and membership conversion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating an inviting atmosphere by warmly welcoming all members and guests.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to members, guests, and program participants.
  • Accurately processing all membership and program enrollments, ensuring member information is up-to-date.
  • Handling program registrations, payments, and membership inquiries with precision.
  • Providing access control by verifying membership cards and ensuring compliance with membership policies.
  • Supporting the Membership Team in achieving sales objectives through engaging prospective members and conducting thorough facility tours.
  • Addressing member feedback and inquiries promptly and courteously, adhering to established procedures.
  • Promoting YMCA programs that align with members' evolving needs and interests.
  • Engaging with members about their participation in YMCA initiatives and events.
  • Facilitating discussions regarding membership cancellations while following appropriate protocols.
  • Administering policies and addressing member concerns with a positive approach.
  • Adhering to daily cash handling procedures and ensuring accurate end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Participating in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Upholding YMCA policies related to safety, supervision, and risk management.
  • Exemplifying the Six Pillars of Character (Trustworthiness, Citizenship, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness) and the YMCA Core Values in all interactions.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and leadership development in mission advancement and operational effectiveness.
