Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee production employees in a manufacturing environment, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve results in all areas.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously work to improve in all areas.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Employee Relations: Ensure effective employee relations, provide employee coaching and development, make employment decisions, and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Accident Investigations: Perform accident investigations.
  • Attendance and Timekeeping: Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Manufacturing Staff Management: Accomplish manufacturing staff results by planning, monitoring, communicating job expectations, and appraising job results.
  • Staff Development: Maintain staff by recruiting, orienting, selecting, and training employees, and developing personal growth opportunities in them.
  • Workflow Management: Maintain workflow by setting process variables, monitoring steps of the process, observing equipment and control points, monitoring resources and personnel, developing reporting systems and procedures, studying methods, facilitating corrections to malfunctions, implementing cost reductions, and initiating and developing a spirit of cooperation between and within departments.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure operation of equipment by evaluating new equipment and calling for repairs of old ones.
  • Manufacturing Information: Provide manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analyzing production performance data and records.
  • Employee Education: Educate and direct employees on the use of equipment, all control points, and resources.
  • Additional Tasks: Handle any minor tasks related to the role.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum three years of leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Minimum three years in manufacturing environments highly preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: The ability to command and maintain attention of those being overseen.
  • Effective Communication: The ability to convincingly convey instructions, directions, and details to others.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of OSHA and other governmental regulations, incident and accident prevention.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracy.
  • Confidentiality: The ability to protect data, information, and employee privacy.
  • Compassion: The ability to be concerned for another person's well-being.
  • Organization: The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaboration: The ability to work with diverse personalities for a tangible and beneficial outcome.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual strongly preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures.
  • This is largely a static role with standing, however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Depending on area, must also be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs on rollers occasionally.
