What will you be responsible for?

The Manufacturing Process Technician operates machinery and equipment that assembles, inspects, tests, repairs, and packages single pole style electrical breakers. This role also involves manual assembly of parts on a production line and packing finished products into containers. The position requires performing various tasks in a systematic rotation among workstations during a shift, typically lasting two to four hours. The primary responsibilities include operating machinery (OTS Assembly), manual assembly of components, and packaging of completed products.
  • The main objective of the production technician role is to manage and operate both automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Certification in skill levels is necessary to qualify for each rotation task.
  • The technician operates one or more machines and manages product flow daily in a machine-paced environment for most rotation tasks.
  • The work schedule consists of a 40-hour week, with occasional overtime based on seasonal production demands.
  • Occasionally, line stoppages or interruptions may require an increased work pace to alleviate bottlenecks and achieve production targets.
What qualifications are essential for success?
  • A GED or High School diploma is required.
  • Ability to meet production standards while maintaining quality of parts.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
  • Capability to read, comprehend, and adhere to procedures for inspecting electrical breakers.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Ability to work safely, communicate effectively with supervisors and technical staff, exercise good judgment, and collaborate well with others.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations, adhere to policies and procedures, solve problems, and maintain full commitment to tasks.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask without constant supervision.
  • Frequent standing and walking for up to an eight (8) hour shift, with opportunities for rotation to tasks that may allow chair use.
  • Occasional use of upper extremities with low to moderate force to manage product bins.
  • Occasional lifting of containers weighing 10-25 lbs from waist to waist height.
  • Rare lifting of lighter totes from floor to waist height.
  • Occasional forward neck flexion during inspection tasks, typically while seated.
  • Rare neck extension to view equipment controls.
  • Occasional bending or crouching to retrieve items.
  • Frequent hand-eye coordination is necessary for handling products.
  • Occasional visual inspections of parts for quality assurance, utilizing inspection tools as needed.
