Position Overview:
Join our team in operating a pharmaceutical packaging line. Responsibilities include managing packaging machinery and ensuring thorough documentation of all completed tasks. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
This position operates within a manufacturing environment that handles regulated materials.
Working Hours: 1st shift, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records including timecards and batch logs.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate various packaging machinery and clean production equipment.
- Set up and disassemble packaging lines as needed.
- Use material handling equipment effectively.
Compliance:
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Implement proper housekeeping practices and safety protocols.
Safety Practices:
- Employ effective safety measures in the manufacturing area, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Understand and utilize Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Decision-Making:
- Ability to escalate issues as necessary and follow instructions accurately.
- Recognize when to halt operations for any irregularities.
Process Knowledge:
- Familiarity with production flow and proper storage of materials.
- Learn essential terminology related to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Communication:
- Effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
- Foster teamwork through appropriate communication techniques.
Computer Skills:
- Perform tasks using personal computers as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 6-12 months of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures.
- Basic math skills for process calculations.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
- Meets the physical demands of the role.
- Technical school certification or 1-2 years of college education.
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with vision systems and robotic fillers.
- Proficient in using Windows-based applications.
This role requires working in a manufacturing area that handles regulated compounds. Secondary gowning and the use of Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) are mandatory. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Employ proper lifting techniques.
- Routine lifting of 20-40 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work overtime.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to product dust and particulates.
- Exposure to elevated noise levels.
- Exposure to temperature variations.
- Ability to work at heights up to 25 ft.
