Position Overview:
The Technical Engineering Leader will manage the daily functions of a multidisciplinary team, which includes systems, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, with a team size of approximately 10 to 12 members.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering); a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a technical team focused on the development of new electro-mechanical products, ideally within the Aerospace or Defense sectors, or other highly regulated industries such as automotive or medical.
  • Strong technical background in power systems, electronic design, and software development practices.
  • Experience in program management, ensuring compliance with timelines and budgetary limits.
  • Familiarity with aerospace environmental and development standards relevant to both Military and Commercial sectors (e.g., MIL-STD-810, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254).

Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in Engineering Management within regulated industries.
  • Expertise in power systems, electronic design, and software development methodologies.
  • Understanding of aerospace environmental and development standards.
  • Experience in managing product development lifecycles, overseeing both hardware and software co-development from initial requirements to production.
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire teams toward achieving program objectives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Successful track record in launching complex technical products.
  • Ability to draft technical proposals and provide non-recurring engineering estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team leadership and interaction with executive management.
  • Hands-on experience in collaborating with Operations teams to address design for manufacture concerns.
  • Commitment to high standards of integrity and adherence to company policies.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing obsolescence issues and implementing product enhancements.
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel for customer site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to the team, overseeing program management and fostering talent development within the Engineering division.
  • Direct all aspects of design engineering to align with business objectives.
  • Offer technical guidance to both Engineering and Sales/Marketing teams, including customer engagement and industry trend analysis.
  • Demonstrate effective program management skills to support multiple program developments.
  • Manage complex design activities while ensuring program objectives are met within budget and schedule.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and products.
  • Exercise personnel authority over the Engineering organization, including recruitment and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with business leadership to create technical presentations and provide budget/schedule estimates for new program opportunities.
  • Continuously enhance the team's skills to keep pace with advancements in technology.
  • Manage various tasks including job assignments, project updates, employee training, and budget management.
