Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist or Medical Laboratory Professional to join our team in the Microbiology department at UW Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform testing in the clinical laboratories, including moderate and high complexity procedures.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution to ensure accurate test results.
  • Utilize strong decision-making skills and work independently to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues as needed, demonstrating expertise in laboratory procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or equivalent education and training.
  • Minimum one year of experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory, or two years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
  • Successful completion of competency assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
  • Additional experience in laboratory management, education, or research.
