Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a full range of laboratory tests, from simple blood tests to complex tests, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Interpret test reports and communicate findings to physicians, ensuring that they have the information they need to make informed decisions about patient care.
  • Escalate unusual, critical, or abnormal results to ensure that patients receive timely and effective treatment.
  • Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments, maintaining accuracy and precision in your work.
  • Assist providers in choosing appropriate lab tests, ensuring that patients receive the most effective and efficient care possible.
  • Perform and evaluate quality control procedures to ensure that laboratory tests are accurate and reliable.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments, ensuring that they are functioning properly and accurately.
  • Assist with the proper storage of hazardous materials, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Review current literature and attend meetings and seminars to stay up-to-date on new developments in the field, ensuring that you are providing the best possible care for patients.
  • Assist in the proficiency testing program in the lab, ensuring that our laboratory meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, prioritizing patient safety and well-being above all else.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
  • One or more of the following certifications: Blood Bank Technologist (BB), Chemistry Technologist (C), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), Cytogenetics Technologist (CG), Hematology Technologist (H), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), Microbiology Technologist (M), Molecular Biology Technologist (MB)

Work Environment:
