Position: Environmental Services Aide I - Per Diem

*Shift: PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

PATIENT POPULATION:
The individual will engage with a diverse patient demographic, encompassing geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn patients. This role also extends to services impacting facility personnel, physicians, visitors, vendors, and the general public.

Must be prepared to fulfill regular/scheduled working hours, including holidays, call-backs, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties. The employee agrees to participate, as required, in emergencies and community disasters during both scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker, assistance is expected during times of need in accordance with applicable emergency service regulations.

It is essential to recognize the responsibility for reporting any perceived misconduct, including actual or potential violations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or the organization's standards/code of conduct.

The employee must perform well under pressure, manage multiple and sometimes competing deadlines, and consistently demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
To successfully execute this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Previous experience in a hospital or hospitality setting is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Environmental Services Aide I carries out various housekeeping tasks. Utilizes a range of cleaning devices and solutions to fulfill job responsibilities while ensuring customer quality expectations are met. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

1. * Conducts a variety of tasks related to maintaining cleanliness standards in both patient and non-patient areas.
a. Daily cleaning: Cleans patient rooms according to standard procedures, including occupied and discharged/transferred patient rooms. Ensures hallways remain clear and organized.
b. Project cleaning: Assists with cleaning rooms of discharged/transferred patients in other units. Cleans utility rooms, nursing stations, lounges, lobby, and restrooms daily. Performs in-depth cleaning tasks such as carpet edges, walls, and hallways as time allows.
2. * Acts as a Hospitality Team Member, addressing the needs of patients and the facility. Engages with patients, family members, visitors, and staff to identify needs and responds appropriately. Alerts the relevant patient care provider when issues arise beyond the assigned scope.
3. Participates in Performance Improvement initiatives. Identifies areas for enhancement and proposes changes to policies and procedures to the Assistant Director and/or department Performance Improvement Committee.
4. Demonstrates adaptability in managing a variety of responsibilities; cross-trains in other departmental areas as necessary. Maintains flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs.
5. * Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality on-site.
