Position: Environmental Services Aide I - Per Diem
Shift: PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Patient Demographics:
The role involves serving a diverse patient population, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn patients. This position also encompasses responsibilities that impact facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors, and the general public.

Work Schedule:
Must be available to work during regular and scheduled hours, including holidays, call-backs, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts. Participation in emergencies and community disasters is required as directed. As a designated disaster service worker, assistance during times of need is mandatory in accordance with applicable regulations.

Reporting Responsibilities:
Employees are expected to recognize their duty to report any perceived misconduct, including actual or potential violations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or organizational standards.

Work Environment:
The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple competing deadlines, and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Previous experience in a hospital or hospitality setting is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Environmental Services Aide I is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks. This includes:

  1. Daily Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, including both occupied and discharged/transferred rooms, and ensure hallways are clear and organized.
  2. Project Cleaning: Assist with cleaning tasks in other units for discharged/transferred patients, and perform in-depth cleaning in utility rooms, nursing stations, lounges, lobbies, and restrooms as time allows.
  3. Hospitality Role: Act as a Hospitality Team Member by engaging with patients, family members, visitors, and hospital staff to identify and respond to needs. Notify the appropriate care provider when issues arise beyond the assigned responsibilities.
  4. Performance Improvement: Participate in activities aimed at enhancing service quality by identifying improvement opportunities and suggesting policy or procedural changes.
  5. Flexibility: Demonstrate adaptability in handling various duties and cross-train in other departmental areas as necessary.
  6. Attendance: Consistent on-site attendance and punctuality are essential.
