Role: Lead Environmental Services Aide IV - Full Time
Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
PATIENT POPULATION:
This role serves a diverse patient demographic, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn patients, along with impacting facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors, and the general public.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the department head, the Lead Environmental Services Aide IV is responsible for a range of cleaning and housekeeping tasks. This includes utilizing various cleaning tools and solutions to fulfill job responsibilities while ensuring that quality standards are consistently met.
The individual must be available to work scheduled hours, including holidays, weekends, and on-call shifts. Participation in emergency response and community disaster efforts is required as part of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise and engage with housekeeping staff in their daily responsibilities.
2. Train team members in all aspects of Environmental Services, monitoring performance and providing retraining as necessary.
3. Operate cleaning equipment in accordance with established protocols.
4. Collaborate with department supervisors to ensure effective scheduling of cleaning tasks.
5. Report staffing or performance concerns to management and conduct regular inspections to verify work quality.
6. Ensure timely completion of cleaning assignments by the team and mentor staff for optimal performance.
7. Assist with patient discharge and transfer activities in relevant areas.
8. Adhere to Infection Control guidelines to prevent contamination from waste and soiled materials.
9. Maintain high standards of floor care in key areas such as emergency rooms and public spaces.
10. Provide assistance to staff with cleaning tasks as needed.
11. Ensure punctuality and attendance on-site.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a hospital or hotel setting is preferred.
SKILLS:
The candidate should possess the ability to read and interpret safety regulations and operational manuals, write routine reports, and communicate effectively in English. Proficiency in basic mathematics and problem-solving skills is also essential.
LICENSURE:
A valid CA driver's license and an acceptable DMV report are required as a condition of employment.
