POSITION SUMMARY FOR RESOURCE SPECIALIST TEACHER:

Become a vital member of ICEF Public Schools as a Resource Specialist Teacher, where we prioritize the educational needs of students with disabilities. Our team collaborates closely with educators, mental health professionals, and various service providers to foster successful inclusive educational experiences. We are committed to professional development, offering our educators ongoing coaching and training to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct students with diverse learning requirements
  • Create and implement lesson plans tailored to individual needs
  • Deliver both individual and group educational sessions
  • Design and adapt educational programs to support unique learning profiles
  • Ensure compliance with IEP accommodations
  • Assist in evaluating student performance and planning educational programs
  • Document and assess student development
  • Engage in communication with parents and educational staff
  • Employ effective behavior management techniques
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is mandatory; Master's Degree is preferred
  • Valid teaching credential is required
  • Experience in urban educational settings is essential
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Reliable transportation is necessary
  • Required clearances must be obtained

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work autonomously in varied environments. Problem-solving capabilities and effective interaction with diverse stakeholders are essential, along with proficiency in operating relevant educational tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role may involve frequent local travel, with physical demands present at educational sites. The work is conducted in a stable temperature environment, with some risk of injury.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:

Bachelor's Degree

Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Special Education

Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License

Clearances Required:

Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance, TB Clearance
