Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Lifelong Learning Administration Co. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of our students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Conduct pre and post-testing using standardized tests for each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and Special Education Program Specialists to support student instruction.
- Participate in the identification of students with possible disabilities and post-intervention phase.
- Provide direct student instruction and academic assessments.
- Schedule and chair IEP meetings, including 30-day review IEP meetings for all students.
- Meet special education timeline requirements as specified by education code.
- Work with Special Education Program Specialists and school support staff to support student instruction.
- Participate in authorized school district trainings, school events, and meetings.
- Maintain documentation of communications with students, families, and other service providers.
- Maintain documentation of daily activities.
- Complete reports and forms as required.
- Travel to other school sites to render Special Education teaching services.
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild-Moderate) or (Moderate-Severe).
- English Language and Autism Authorizations.
- Prior experience working with exceptional learners is strongly recommended.
- Eligibility to obtain a teaching permit or teaching internship.
- Successful passing of the California Basic Skills Exam.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and various educational software programs.
- General Office skills.
- Mental Demands: High workflow management, high project coordination.
- Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
- Talking: Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Average Visual Abilities: Ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
- Physical Strength: Sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force.
