Job Overview

UBMD Primary Care is looking for a Healthcare Customer Service Specialist to join our dynamic team at a busy multi-specialty outpatient clinic. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth patient experience through effective communication and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and assist with the check-in and check-out process.
  • Verify insurance details and manage appointment scheduling efficiently.
  • Handle daily copay collections and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls, directing them appropriately.
  • Assist in compiling data for reports as requested by management.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA and OSHA.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years in a medical office or customer service environment is essential, with a strong preference for experience in electronic medical records.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with medical terminology are advantageous.

Work Environment:

This position is situated in a well-lit, fast-paced office environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting as needed.
