About the Role

WEX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal, IP to join its Global Corporate Legal Services team. The successful candidate will provide critical support to the Vice President, Global Corporate Legal Services, in managing WEX's IP portfolio and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee WEX's IP portfolio, including registration, prosecution, renewal, enforcement, and litigation management.
  • Develop strategies and policies for protecting and maintaining WEX's existing IP portfolio and new Company inventions.
  • Foster awareness and collaboration on WEX's IP portfolio and related strategies, policies, and processes.
  • Assist with IP due diligence and integration in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Maintain a current understanding of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and policy trends.
  • Collaborate with WEX's Global Corporate Legal Services team on special projects, project management, and organization.
  • Contribute to the development of the WEX Legal Department culture and practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Certification or associates degree in paralegal studies (bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of significant experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in IP and corporate transactional matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international IP laws, with a strong track record of managing IP portfolios.
  • In-house legal experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Commitment to quality through demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and act as a trusted resource for business and functional leaders.
  • Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite.
