Job Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and functionality of large-scale industrial textile processing machinery, alongside general facility maintenance. Key responsibilities encompass the execution of start-up and shut-down protocols, electrical diagnostics, and the operation of boilers, in addition to welding, cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily start-up and shut-down of plant machinery.
  • Ensure safe operation of the boiler and associated equipment, including performing necessary water and boiler tests.
  • Install, repair, and carry out preventive maintenance inspections on industrial processing machinery and systems.
  • Respond to emergency repairs of production equipment promptly.
  • Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, and conduct testing and adjustments.
  • Thoroughly clean machinery and components, including disassembly and reassembly as required.
  • Lubricate moving parts to maintain optimal performance.
  • Document and report any damaged or worn components.
  • Order and install replacement parts as necessary.
  • Identify causes of unexpected machinery breakdowns and implement repairs efficiently.
  • Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop areas, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule regular maintenance tasks.
  • Address daily maintenance requests swiftly to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate with product managers or plant engineers regarding new product integrations and necessary modifications.
  • Implement modifications and conduct test runs, discussing results with product managers for further adjustments.
  • Program PLCs and maintain trucks as required.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout and other safety protocols.
  • Oversee the chemical room maintenance.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Engage in various maintenance tasks, including janitorial duties as needed.
  • Meet established productivity benchmarks.
  • Ensure all work is executed safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize CMMS systems for logging work and conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Possess a solid understanding of computer-based programming (PLC).
  • Work independently or assist team members in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Safely operate scissors lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.
  • Strictly follow all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Enhance technical knowledge through workshops and technical literature.
  • Interpret blueprints and manufacturer manuals for correct machinery operation.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics proficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed.
  • Work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Follow directions from team leads and supervisors.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Be prepared to work beyond scheduled hours as production demands arise.
  • Drive and transport parts and equipment as necessary.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Certifications:

  • Some locations may require relevant certifications, including a boiler license or PLC programming certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in maintenance engineering with knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proficient in using power and hand tools.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly with 3-phase 230-volt systems.
  • Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including industrial settings.
