Shift: 10am-7pm. Note that there is potential for overtime. This role offers temp-to-hire potential, not strictly a contract position.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will be tasked with the installation, repair, and upkeep of large-scale industrial textile processing machinery, along with general facility maintenance. Responsibilities include:

  • Executing start-up and shut-down protocols for plant machinery daily.
  • Ensuring safe operation of the boiler and associated equipment, including conducting water and boiler tests.
  • Performing installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial processing equipment and systems.
  • Responding to emergency repairs for production machinery.
  • Diagnosing issues, replacing or repairing components, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Conducting thorough cleaning of machines and components, including disassembly and reassembly as needed.
  • Lubricating moving parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documenting and reporting any damaged or worn parts.
  • Ordering and installing replacement components for machinery.
  • Identifying causes of unexpected machinery breakdowns and executing repairs efficiently.
  • Preparing detailed reports of maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of shop areas, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinating with management to schedule routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Addressing daily maintenance requests promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Collaborating with product managers or plant engineers regarding new product introductions and necessary modifications.
  • Implementing modifications and conducting test runs, consulting with product managers on results and further adjustments.
  • Programming PLCs as required.
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on trucks as necessary.
  • Adhering to lockout/tagout and other safety protocols.
  • Maintaining the chemical storage area.
  • Carrying out additional related duties as assigned.
  • Working across various maintenance areas, including janitorial tasks as needed.
  • Meeting established productivity benchmarks.
  • Ensuring all work is conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Utilizing the CMMS system to log maintenance activities and perform preventive measures.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of computer-based programming (PLC).
  • Working independently or assisting team members in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Safely operating scissors lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.
  • Strictly following all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Keeping technical knowledge current through workshops and literature.
  • Interpreting blueprints and manufacturer manuals for correct machinery operation.
  • Reading electrical schematics proficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed.
  • Collaborating effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Following directives from team leads and supervisors.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace.
  • Ensuring the work area and company premises are safe, clean, and organized.
  • Being available for additional shifts as production demands arise.
  • Transporting equipment and parts as required.
  • Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
