Position Overview

In light of an impending retirement, we are seeking a skilled maintenance leader to join our team. Are you an accomplished Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in leadership, project management, and strategic planning? If so, we invite you to consider this opportunity. You will be responsible for training personnel, developing and sustaining preventative maintenance programs, and mentoring and overseeing all technicians to ensure safety and production objectives are met. Your role will involve supervising the installation, upkeep, and repair of plant equipment, as well as maintaining the premises. Collaborating with the engineering team on the design and modification of existing facilities will be crucial to your success. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining maintenance standards while supervising daily operations of the maintenance department, providing guidance and support to the maintenance team.
  • Assuming daily accountability for equipment to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Compiling and maintaining accurate information on plant facilities to inform decision-making.
  • Managing and scheduling manpower and directing employees to complete all maintenance tasks.
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to align plant activities with overall operations.
  • Preparing preventative maintenance strategies for both short-term and long-term economic considerations.
  • Issuing purchase requisitions and developing cost estimates for capital and replacement expenditures.
  • Utilizing your exceptional leadership skills to promote a high standard of safety throughout the facility.
  • Monitoring and managing utilities (Gas, Electric, Water) daily to ensure efficiency.
  • Selecting and developing maintenance personnel to enhance departmental success.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an Engineering degree or equivalent experience, with 1 to 3 years in industrial maintenance management. Alternatively, candidates without a degree should have 8-10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and exhibit excellent project management skills.
  • Expertise in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural issues promptly.
  • Experience managing a fleet of material handling equipment (rail, crane, forklift, manlift).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CMMS software is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AC and DC drives.
