Position Overview:

The Human Resources Team Leader will be responsible for guiding the strategic vision, planning, coordination, administration, and assessment of all Human Resources (HR) activities within the department.

This role involves close collaboration with both the HR Management team and the Program Management team to achieve the objectives set forth by the organization.

The HR Team Leader will ensure the smooth operation of HR functions, including compliance oversight, policy development, workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and payroll management.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership to align the organization's human resource and talent strategies with current and future workforce needs.
  • Provide expert guidance to HR generalists and management on complex and sensitive HR issues, including accommodations and investigations.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for various roles.
  • Evaluate compensation and benefits trends, proposing competitive pay structures to attract and retain top talent.
  • Develop and implement training and development initiatives to foster employee growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, regularly reviewing policies for adherence.
  • Stay informed on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to maintain a forward-thinking HR department.
  • Utilize HR Information Systems (HRIS) and reporting tools effectively to manage HR data.
  • Lead financial oversight related to grant accounting and communicate financial needs across departments.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management to inform on HR metrics and progress.
  • Conduct training sessions on HR policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing a team of HR professionals (3-7) in partnership with the HR Manager.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Human Resources capacity.
  • Experience with federal government contracts is advantageous.
  • Background in human services or similar fields is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with SharePoint and OneDrive.

Equivalent Experience:
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resources role.

Work Environment:

This position primarily operates in an office setting, with occasional requirements for travel, public speaking, and flexible hours.
